Position Overview

The Electrical Engineering Manager serves as a key member of the engineering leadership team, bridging strategic technical direction with day-to-day project execution. Reporting to the head of Engineering, this individual will oversee a team of engineers and designers, ensuring design quality, code compliance, project consistency, and successful delivery across multiple concurrent projects.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader capable of mentoring technical staff, solving complex engineering challenges, and maintaining high standards of performance while supporting a fast-paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor electrical engineers and designers while promoting technical excellence and professional growth.
• Oversee electrical system design for commercial, retail, and industrial projects.
• Review, approve, and maintain quality standards for engineering calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing team workloads and resources.
• Support resource planning, project scheduling, and engineering execution.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, owners, and internal project teams.
• Resolve complex design and constructability challenges.
• Conduct site assessments and field investigations as required.
• Maintain project quality, schedule adherence, and budget expectations.
• Serve as a technical resource and escalation point for engineering staff.
• Contribute to process improvements and engineering best practices.

Qualifications
Required

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in electrical building systems design.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting systems, and electrical infrastructure.
• Experience leading engineering teams and mentoring technical professionals.
• Proficiency with Revit, BIM, and AutoCAD.
• Experience producing and reviewing construction documents and engineering calculations.
• Strong understanding of code compliance and design standards.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred

• Experience supporting multi-site retail, commercial, or program-based projects.
• Design-build project delivery experience.
• Experience sealing and reviewing electrical drawings.
• Previous leadership responsibility for engineers and designers.
