Key Responsibilities- Operate digital fluoroscopic and portable radiology equipment under general supervision to capture routine radiographs of specified body areas, following physician instructions and established protocols.
- Utilize radiologic expertise to deliver diagnostic imaging services for patients of all ages, ensuring adherence to radiation safety and organizational policies. Demonstrate proficiency in general radiography and fluoroscopy by acquiring and assessing images for technical quality, confirming proper patient identification and image labeling. Independently assist with invasive procedures in the operating room using C-Arms and/or O-Arms.
- Engage in departmental and organizational initiatives aimed at improving workflows, enhancing patient experiences, and ensuring quality and safety to boost patient care and operational efficiency. Actively participate in training and educational activities for students and staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including the cleaning and preparation of patient rooms. Manage supplies and inventory in the designated area.
- Communicate effectively with patients to gather relevant medical histories, address inquiries, and explain procedures to ensure patient understanding and comfort.
- Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of equipment by conducting quality control activities and promptly reporting any equipment or environmental issues.
- Provide patient education and support, preparing patients for procedures and addressing their physical and emotional needs. Escalate concerns through appropriate channels as necessary.
- Facilitate patient flow and coordinate care through consistent and effective communication with patients, care teams, and families. Document patient care activities in electronic health record systems and ensure timely distribution of final images to the PACS system for interpretation.
- Exhibit professionalism in actions and communication, embodying the organization’s values and fostering a respectful and supportive atmosphere for patients, families, and colleagues. Adhere to the ARRT Standards of Ethics.
- Comply with departmental policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations, ensuring adherence to federal, state, professional, and accreditation requirements.
- Follow leadership guidance and established protocols to maintain efficient patient flow, seeking clarification when necessary.
- Associate’s degree required; or
- Certificate in Radiologic Technology (awarded before January 1, 2015) from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in diagnostic radiography and fluoroscopy (XR/RF) is required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is required upon hire.
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist in Maryland and/or Virginia, as applicable, is required upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from USD $29.73 to USD $48.63.
