To learn more about UCI Health, visit Position Summary As a Senior Ultrasound Technologist, you will perform and interpret cardiac ultrasound studies for adult and pediatric patients. This includes M‑mode, two‑ and three‑dimensional imaging, color Doppler, pulsed Doppler, continuous wave Doppler, transesophageal echo, pharmacologic and exercise stress echo, Holter monitors, and ECGs. You will recognize and describe abnormal findings, tailor procedures to provide a comprehensive exam, and decide when to use echo contrast agents or agitated saline injections according to the CVC policy. You will prepare and position patients, adjust equipment, operate various stationary and portable equipment and imaging systems, and rotate shifts and assignments as needed, including after‑hours on‑call. The Sr. Ultrasound Technologist assists in the training of fellows and students as assigned and will travel between all cardiology off‑site clinics where procedures are performed. Required Qualifications Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties. Must possess A.R.D.M.S. and/or CCI Certification. Must have at least two years of experience in cardiac ultrasound. Must have at least two years of experience in adult echocardiology. Must demonstrate customer‑service skills appropriate to the job. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to routinely travel locally to ambulatory practice off‑site locations. Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System. Preferred Qualifications Registered in pediatric echocardiography. RDCS certification. Two years of college education with an emphasis in Allied Health Sciences, preferably diagnostic medical sonography. Knowledge of university and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms. Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS).
