Position Overview

GFT Technologies is seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Architect for a long-term engagement supporting a confidential defense-sector client.

The ideal candidate will have strong GCP architecture experience , with a background in designing secure, AI-enabled enterprise platforms. A Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification is a major plus.

The client is a manufacturer supporting U.S. Navy submarine production and is modernizing manual, paper-based shop-floor operations through an AI-enabled workforce readiness platform.

Project Overview

The program will replace fragmented, paper-driven manufacturing processes with a proprietary AI-enabled platform that provides:

• AI-generated work instructions
• Smart technician assignment
• Real-time quality and compliance visibility
• Manufacturing data integration
• Advanced analytics through Looker
• AI-powered workforce enablement

The engagement will be delivered in two major phases:

1. GCP Landing Zone: Establishment of a secure, FedRAMP High/IL4-compliant Google Cloud foundation.
2. Platform Development: Development of the manufacturing data integration engine, data connector migration, Looker analytics, and workforce enablement platform powered by four AI agents.

Due to the use of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), the engagement requires U.S.-person access and U.S. citizenship .

Required Qualifications

• 5 8+ years of solution/platform architecture experience.
• Experience architecting AI-enabled enterprise platforms .
• Strong Google Cloud Platform (GCP) architecture experience.
• Experience designing APIs for multi-persona, role-based platforms.
• Strong RBAC/IAM architecture experience.
• Experience mapping security and access controls to compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP High/IL4 .
• Experience defining or implementing KPI/measurement frameworks tied to business outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to serve as an end-to-end technical authority across complex, multi-role platform initiatives.
• U.S. Citizen with eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Ability to travel to Norfolk, VA approximately 1 2 times over the project duration .

Preferred Qualifications

• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification or equivalent GCP architecture certification.
• Experience architecting RAG-based or agentic AI systems .
• Manufacturing, industrial, defense, or DoD-adjacent experience.
• Experience with FedRAMP High, IL4, CUI, or similar regulated environments.
• Experience designing platforms intended for reuse across multiple customers.
• Experience with Google Cloud data, analytics, AI/ML, and security services.
