Job Description

Our client is looking for a SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR located in Ann Arbor, MI .

SUMMARY

Our client is a well-established engineering and technology organization that has been providing system engineering and software solutions to the U.S. government and private industry for nearly 50 years. They are seeking a highly motivated System Administrator to join their team and support the administration, security, and maintenance of their computing infrastructure.

This role will be responsible for supporting Windows and Linux environments, configuring hardware and software, administering user accounts, maintaining system security, and assisting with incident response and vulnerability management. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, workstations, servers, and peripherals.
• Administer Windows and Linux operating systems across both desktop and server environments.
• Perform system patching, operating system updates, and security updates.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access.
• Monitor and review system logs to identify potential issues or security concerns.
• Participate in incident response and troubleshooting activities.
• Support vulnerability management initiatives and remediation efforts.
• Develop, document, monitor, and report on IT security programs in accordance with applicable management, operational, and technical controls.
• Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable IT security policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Configure and maintain desktop, laptop, server, and network hardware.
• Provide technical training and guidance to staff as needed.
• Serve as a technical resource to management and other employees.
• Communicate regularly with internal staff and external organizations regarding technical initiatives, projects, and updates.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and system procedures.
• Work both independently and collaboratively to resolve technical issues and support organizational initiatives.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must possess a current government security clearance in good standing or have the ability to obtain one.
• Associate degree or higher in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Help Desk, Systems Administrator, or related IT infrastructure role.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA Security, or equivalent certification.
• Experience working with NIST, RMF , and other cybersecurity regulations, standards, and procedures applicable to the Department of Defense (DoD).
• Experience with DISA STIGs and SCAP tools.
• Familiarity with Windows and BASH scripting.
• Experience with Windows and Linux auditing, audit settings, and audit review.

SECURITY CLEARANCE

This position requires a government security clearance . Candidates must be U.S. Citizens to be considered.

This is a 100% on-site position based at the company's facility in Ann Arbor, MI .
