Job Title Recruitment & Retention Coordinator (RC) for the Fostering Idaho Regional Recruitment and Retention Job Summary Under direction of the FRTC Director and in partnership with statewide regional contractors, the Recruitment & Retention Coordinator will lead the coordination and sustainability of regional recruitment of foster families. The role oversees the Statewide Diligent Recruitment plan, the regional recruitment plan, the Resource Peer Mentor program and other retention activities. About Us The Family Resource and Training Center (FRTC) operates as part of the EWU College of Professional Programs, partnering with state social service agencies to train social workers and foster parents. The center serves at-risk children and families, building healthy families and communities. Distinguishing Characteristics The Coordinator collaborates with regional child welfare leadership teams to develop, coordinate, and maintain recruitment and retention activities for qualified foster families. Responsibilities include implementing the Diligent Recruitment Plan, managing the Regional Recruitment Plan, leading community-based Recruitment Advisory Councils (RAC), and supervising regional Resource Peer Mentors. Responsibilities Lead regional Recruitment Advisory Council (RAC) meetings. Interact with licensing workers weekly to discuss recruitment needs and activities. Cultivate community relationships to promote foster family recruitment and support. Participate in the implementation of the Diligent Recruitment Plan and develop the annual Regional Recruitment Plan. Organize, facilitate, and present at public events. Provide mentoring support to Resource Peer Mentors related to recruitment activities. Maintain accurate documentation and data records of recruitment activities using provided forms and technology. Provide training and support for Resource Peer Mentors and prepare them to mentor foster families. Collaborate with child welfare staff on special activities such as annual Foster Family Appreciation Event and related observances. Report to the Director of FRTC any issues, concerns, and recommendations for programming and plans. Support Resource Peer Mentors through scheduling, activity reports, and monitoring contracted hours. Engage with supervisor and FRTC Director in recruitment and hiring of Resource Peer Mentors. Perform hiring process of new Resource Peer Mentors (interview, orientation, training, and development plan). Coordinate staffing needs and ensure adequate coverage for foster parents and training activities. Monitor social media activity on regional pages. Maintain high quality employee performance and service delivery. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or) Associate’s degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, Child Development, Education, or related field AND at least two (2) years professional experience working within the child welfare system; OR at least two (2) years professional experience in program/project management, recruitment or related field, including supervision, AND at least two (2) years professional experience working within the child welfare system. Complete mandatory training within six months of hire (Preservice, TOT, TBRI). Three years of professional experience in social services. Knowledge of trauma-informed care and the complex needs of children and families involved in foster care. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership and/or supervisory skills. Computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint. Experience with database management. Knowledge of creative design/marketing. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time. Demonstrated responsive and flexible approach supporting universal access of students, faculty, staff, and the public. Preferred Qualifications At least two (2) years supervisory experience. Five (5) or more years of experience in social services. Program development experience. Other Skills and Abilities The job description may vary based on department needs; responsibilities may be adjusted as required. Benefits and Compensation The salary range for this position is $55,571–$58,000, depending on education, experience, and skills.
