CNC Set-Up MachinistLocation: Elk Grove Village, ILPay Range: $25-$30/hrPosition Summary: Seeking a CNC Set-Up Machinist to support precision manufacturing operations by performing complete machine setups and production support on CNC mills and lathes. This role requires experience with tooling, fixturing, offsets, first-article inspections, and working with Mastercam-generated programs in a tight-tolerance machining environment. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform complete setups on CNC mills and lathes, including tooling installation, fixturing, workholding, and offset adjustments.Load, prove out, and run Mastercam-generated CNC programs.Conduct first-article inspections and make adjustments to ensure parts meet specifications.Monitor production runs, tool wear, and process performance while making necessary corrections.Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements.Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, fixturing, materials, or machine performance.Collaborate with programmers and engineers to improve setup efficiency, cycle times, and process consistency.Qualifications3+ years of CNC setup experience on mills and/or lathes.Hands-on experience with CNC machining in a precision manufacturing environment.Working knowledge of Mastercam and the ability to run CAM-generated programs.Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.Experience performing first-article inspections and maintaining tight tolerances.Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, offsets, and machine setup procedures.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Preferred QualificationsExperience with 4-axis or 5-axis machining.Ability to make basic CNC program edits using G-Code.Experience in aerospace, medical, automotive, or high-mix/low-volume manufacturing.Familiarity with setup documentation and process optimization.Bilingual Polish and English.Application Disclaimer: You don't need to meet 100% of the requirements to apply.
