Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for the day-to-day billing process that includes insurance verification, prior authorizations, data entry, billing of various insurances and follow-up on accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists the receptionists in verifying insurances and charging self-pay patients.
- Scrub Claims, and all other related to billing department tasks.
- Always maintains confidentiality of patient information.
- Complies with applicable policies and procedures and supports the Compliance Program.
- Contributes to organizational operations by performing other duties as may be required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma (preferred).
- Adherence to laws and confidentiality guidelines.
- Proven experience as a billing clerk or general accounting experience (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel); Working knowledge of relevant software will be appreciated.
- Ability to establish and maintain courteous and professional relationships with staff, patients and others.
