Accounting Clerk (AP-Focused)Location: Waldwick, NJ (100% On-Site) Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Compensation: $24.00 - $27.50 per hour (dependent upon experience)About the Opportunity: A growing organization in the service/construction industry is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join its team due to an internal promotion. This role is heavily focused on Accounts Payable and offers the opportunity to work closely with purchasing and project management teams on project-based accounting activities.Position Overview: This position will support day-to-day accounting operations with a strong emphasis on project-related AP. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Scan invoices and supporting documents; accurately input data into the accounting system (Spectrum/Viewpoint)Assist with vendor payment processing for job-related and general expensesMaintain and update vendor master records as neededCoordinate with purchasing and project managers to ensure invoice accuracy and proper matching to orders and received materialsSupport payroll data entry including work hours, job numbers, and cost codesAssist with accounts receivable processes and make collection calls when assignedHandle incoming and outgoing accounting mail, including postage processingReconcile credit card transactions and enter employee expense reportsGenerate reports, verify data accuracy, and support general administrative accounting tasksCollaborate with accounting team members to provide cross-training and departmental supportAssist with additional accounting duties and ad hoc projects as neededQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in accounting or bookkeeping preferredExperience in accounts payable, preferably within construction or service-related industriesUnderstanding of project-based accounting is a plusFamiliarity with accounting/ERP systems (Spectrum/Viewpoint experience a plus)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to communicate effectively across departmentsTeam-oriented with a willingness to learn and adaptAdditional Notes:This role is best suited for candidates looking to grow within an accounting support function (CPA track candidates will not be considered)Hands-on, collaborative environment with opportunity for cross-trainingApply today to be considered for this excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing team.Benefits: Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
