Accounting AssistantOwn the money moving in and out of the business every day. In this role, you will run billing and collections, process vendor payments, and keep cash and the books accurate through month-end close. My client is landscaping company looking for a hands-on accounting assistant who enjoys the details and takes ownership of the work.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and process customer invoices accurately and on timeMonitor A/R aging and follow up on outstanding balancesPost customer payments and reconcile customer accountsResearch and resolve billing and payment discrepanciesProcess vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and prepare vendor paymentsReconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepanciesMonitor daily cash balances, track expected receipts and upcoming payments, and assist with cash flow forecastingPerform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepanciesMaintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and reconcile accounts monthlyMaintain accurate customer and vendor recordsQualifications4+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong experience with A/R, A/P, billing, cash management, reconciliations, and general ledger accountingExperience with month-end closeStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial statementsProficiency with Excel and accounting or ERP systemsAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesStrong communication and problem-solving skills
