The incumbent is responsible for maintaining all carpentry and repair requirements, ensuring safety standards and compliance with all codes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare materials, construct, modify and perform major repairs on structures (both old and new) as needed. Comply with all safety regulations as a daily duty. Construct and repair building systems, including doors, floors, roofs, trim work, walls, ceilings, tile, and windows on a daily basis. Lay out and cut lumber to size as required. Demonstrate proper use and maintenance of all hand-powered and carpentry tools daily. Wearing a hard hat during new construction and major renovation (daily compliance). Read blueprints and lay out work to specifications as needed. Prepare a material list, purchase materials, and communicate with skilled craftsmen to ensure timely completion (daily). Perform building and fire life safety inspections. Exterior and interior painting. Interior and exterior pressure washing. Cabinet and shelf design and construction. Installation of items that hang from the ceiling and walls. Assist the locksmith with door hardware needs. Must have a valid and active motor vehicle driver's license. Perform any other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Specialized schooling and/or on‑the‑job education in a specific skill area plus 0–2 years related experience or equivalent combination. Strong communication skills: ability to read and understand documents, write routine reports and correspondence. Mathematical skills: ability to work with probability, statistics, fundamentals of plane geometry, algebra, solid geometry and trigonometry. Critical thinking skills: ability to apply common sense, handle routine problem solving and make minor decisions. Must possess valid and active motor vehicle driver's license. Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, ladders, scaffolds, pneumatic tools, etc. Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Not indicated.
