Job Title: Program Counselor Program: DARE Location: 700 Airport Road , Lakewood New Jersey 08701 Position Type: Full Time Job Description/Summary The Program Counselor is responsible for providing psychoeducational groups and case management to co-occurring population. The Program Counselor also provides linkages to resources and completes all documentation in a timely manner. This is a full time position, Monday though Friday, day shift. Responsibilities Engages Co-Occurring clients and provides explanation of services; Works effectively with the full spectrum of diagnosis disorders. Demonstrates ability to assess risk category, mental status, level of compliance and motivation. Demonstrates ability to assess clients’ needs, and provide interventions that are timely and appropriate. Completes progress/group notes accurately, addressing treatment goals, major clinical issues and changes in mental health status. Proficient written and verbal communication Ability to work effectively within a team environment Demonstrates ability to perform basic computer functions and use of electronic records as required by job function.
