Medical Assistant PositionA medical assistant supports both clinical and administrative operations within a medical practice setting, ensuring smooth operations in medical settings. The medical assistant assists doctors with patient care, preparing patients for examinations and assisting with minor medical procedures. Pay Range - $22.00-$26.00/hr. Commensurate with experienceResponsibilitiesClinicalPrepare patients for examination or treatment, taking an ocular and systemic history and accurately recording visual acuityPrep injections, medications, and sterile field for in-office procedures; assist doctor or surgeon with in-office and minor proceduresAdminister topical ophthalmic and oral systemic medications under the direction of the doctor.Assist with patient education.Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of exam rooms during the workday.Complies with all practice procedures and protocols. Complies with all State and Federal regulations.AdministrativeReport inventory and supply needs to leadership timely and as needed for supply orderingParticipate in daily team huddles and regularly scheduled meetings as planned and required.Understand and accept responsibility to report potential or suspected errors to supervisor or Compliance OfficerContribute to the team effort by completing additional tasks or projects as needed.Maintain positive attitude consisting of cooperation, self-motivation, courtesy, and professionalismEssential SkillsBasic knowledge of ophthalmic and optometric exams, procedures, and terminology can be obtained via on-the-job training.Basic knowledge and competency of the technical skills listed below are required for a medical assistant working in an ophthalmology/optometry setting.
