Customer Story & Engagement Specialist

We're looking for a highly engaging, confident, and naturally curious Customer Story & Engagement Specialist to conduct meaningful conversations with customers and prospects.

This is not a scripted call center or telemarketing role. We're looking for someone who enjoys building genuine conversations, asking thoughtful questions, listening actively, and uncovering customer stories and insights.

As the role evolves, there may also be opportunities to follow up with prospective customers, identify customer needs and buying intent, and support customer conversion through natural, relationship-focused conversations.

What You'll Do:

1) Conduct engaging phone and/or video conversations with customers and prospects.

2) Interview customers and encourage them to share their experiences naturally.

3) Ask thoughtful follow-up questions and keep conversations engaging.

4) Build rapport quickly and create a comfortable customer experience.

5) Capture customer stories, feedback, testimonials, and valuable insights.

6) Maintain accurate notes and summaries after each interaction.

7) Follow up with website inquiries and prospective customers when required.

8) Identify customer needs and potential opportunities through genuine conversations.

9) Support customer engagement and future conversion initiatives.

10) Work independently while maintaining professionalism and consistent communication.

What We're Looking For (Required):

1) Exceptional spoken English with a warm, natural, and engaging conversational style.

2) Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.

3) Comfortable conducting customer conversations by phone and video.

4) Strong ability to ask intelligent follow-up questions and guide conversations naturally.

5) Experience in one or more of the following:

* Customer Success
* Customer Experience
* Journalism
* Interviewing
* Podcasting
* Storytelling
* Customer Research
* Community Management
* Similar customer-facing roles

6) Ability to build rapport quickly and adapt to different personalities.

7) Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working remotely.

8) Results-oriented with a proactive mindset.

Preferred:

1) Experience with dogs, puppies, pet owners, or the pet industry.

2) Experience conducting interviews, testimonials, case studies, or customer research.

3) Customer success or consultative sales experience.

4) Experience engaging with U.S.-based customers.

5) Ability to identify customer needs and opportunities without using aggressive sales techniques.

Engagement Details:

1) Remote freelance opportunity

2) Approximately 10- 20 hours per week initially.

3) Up to $20/hour, depending on experience

Potential for additional hours based on performance and business needs.
