Facilities Technician

Facilities TechnicianPerforms routine building maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. Assists in a wide variety of maintenance activities; addresses immediate operational and/or safety concerns; and ensures that tools, materials and vehicles are maintained in good working order. Performs activities under direct supervision.We are looking for a talented Facilities Technician to join our Distribution business in Omaha, NE.Will make an impact in the following ways:Perform facility maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, flooring, and lighting repairsUtilize maintenance software to track, prioritize, and complete reactive, preventive, predictive, and planned maintenance activitiesMaintain a safe work environment by identifying hazards, following safety procedures, and supporting compliance initiativesOperate and maintain facility equipment, powered tools, forklifts, golf carts, and other equipment as requiredOrder supplies, manage spare parts inventory, and support facility operational needsMaintain facility grounds, exterior areas, pits, sumps, and general housekeeping activitiesPartner with service and parts teams to retrieve parts, fuel, and other items needed to support operational requirementsSupport facility improvements and maintenance projects to ensure reliable building operationsExternal Qualifications and CompetenciesIn order to be successful in this role you will need the following:Basic knowledge of facility maintenance, repair, and mechanical systemsAbility to perform repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, and general building maintenanceExperience using powered hand tools and operating material handling equipment is preferredStrong commitment to safety and the ability to work in a variety of environmental conditionsGood communication and teamwork skills with a customer-focused mindsetAbility to prioritize tasks and respond to maintenance needs with urgencyValid CDL required (Class A with Passenger Endorsement preferred)Ability to meet DOT and FMCSA requirements, including physical examination, driving record standards, and drug/alcohol testing requirementsMust be at least 21 years of ageEducation, Licenses, Certifications: High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. Experience: Minimal or no work experience required.Additional Responsibilities Unique to this PositionPartner with the service and parts department to expeditiously retrieve parts, fuel, or any other items needed to support the repair event process.CDL Required (Prefer Class A with P endorsement)- A current valid CDL is required for this role.- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations - This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and on going random drug and alcohol testing - This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical - This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use - Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of ageEducation, Licenses, Certifications: High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
