About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Analytics Engineering to lead the design and delivery of enterprise data products on its Data Foundation Platform. This hands-on, player-coach leadership role involves overseeing a small team, working alongside engineers, and partnering across the broader data organization and the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and maintaining engineering standards, delivering quality data products, and developing talent in a SOX-controlled environment. Key responsibilities include leading a team of Analytics Engineers, Data Architects, and Modelers, designing and building scalable data solutions, and guiding the team in the use of tools such as Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and Microsoft Azure. The role also requires a strong focus on data quality, performance optimization, and the ability to manage priorities and delivery commitments. Applicants for the VP, Analytics Engineering position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and at least 8 years' of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related roles. A minimum of 3 years' of experience in leading technical teams and a proven track record of delivering enterprise data solutions using the specified tools is essential. The role demands advanced skills in SQL, data modeling, and experience with modern ELT practices. Familiarity with data governance, security, and regulatory controls, particularly in a SOX-controlled environment, is also required. The ideal candidate will have a background in banking or financial services and experience with AI-assisted development tools. Strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to balance hands-on technical work with people management are crucial for this position.
