Controls Technician

Location: Houston, TX About the Role A leading global building technologies company is seeking an experienced Controls Technician to join our Houston-based team. We specialize in delivering smart, energy-efficient building automation solutions for commercial, industrial, and institutional clients. What You'll Do Install, program, commission, and service building automation systems (BAS/BMS) at customer sites Configure and troubleshoot controllers, sensors, and field devices Perform system integration and commissioning using Niagara (N4/AX) Diagnose and resolve HVAC control issues, network communication problems, and system faults Read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, control sequences, and points lists Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure systems meet performance specifications Provide ongoing preventive maintenance and emergency service support Document system configurations, changes, and service records What We're Looking For 3+ years of experience in building automation/controls, HVAC controls, or a related field Hands-on experience with Niagara Framework (N4/AX) required; certification a plus Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, LON, or other open protocols Strong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical/electrical schematics, and control sequences Ability to work independently on-site and manage multiple projects Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to job sites Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills Associate's degree or technical certification in a related field preferred (or equivalent experience) What We Offer Competitive salary (~$110,000/year) based on experience 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Company vehicle/tools provided Ongoing training and certification opportunities Career advancement within a growing global organization #J-18808-Ljbffr Edison Smart®
