Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor

Summary This position serves as a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor within the Division of Facilities Management, Office of Environmental Health and Engineering (OEH&E), at the Santa Fe Service Unit, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Incumbent supervises maintenance staff responsible for maintaining healthcare facilities and building systems to ensure safe, reliable, and code-compliant operations that support patient care. Responsibilities Supervise and direct maintenance personnel performing preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and facility operations for hospitals, clinics, offices, warehouses, central plants, and grounds. Plan, assign, and coordinate maintenance work; establish priorities, allocate staff, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and accreditation standards. Provide technical leadership by troubleshooting complex HVAC/DDC, electrical, boiler, plumbing, refrigeration, roofing, and other building system issues; perform advanced maintenance and emergency repairs as needed. Manage administrative functions, including work orders, performance management, training, leave administration, CMMS documentation, and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) responsibilities. Background Investigation Requirement: This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment. A background investigation is a standard process used by the Federal Government to verify an individual's identity, employment history, education, and other relevant information to determine suitability for Federal service. Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. IHS may offer newly-appointed Federal employees credit for their directly related previous non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service.
