Prep Cook

My Green Lunch is looking for self‑motivated individuals with a strong work ethic to join our team as a Prep Cook. You will work with a great team in a family‑feeling environment. Prep cooks perform cold and hot food prep, portioning and packaging of meals that meet the expectations and quality required of My Green Lunch. This position will primarily focus on the hot prep team with portioning meals and sealing. This position requires a 4:00 am start time and Sunday shifts up to three times per month as per the posted schedule. Ability to arrive on time and reliability is extremely important. Must have at least 6 months of fast‑paced restaurant or catering experience. Have strong attention to detail & use time efficiently. Ability to work efficiently and independently is important. Need to measure precisely and follow specific detailed instructions to assure standardized meals. Knowledge of and ability to use kitchen equipment and general cleaning materials. Have basic food preparation practices and ability to learn the methods and procedures of large‑scale lunch production. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Have a Food Handlers Certificate or be willing to obtain one in a timely manner upon starting work. Knowledge of both Spanish and English is helpful but not required. Cross‑training in all aspects of the kitchen will be provided. Perform other duties as assigned. Hours vary between 30–40 hours per week, depending on the week. Hours can fluctuate due to school schedules and may be closed for major school holidays. Pay: $19.00–$21.00 per hour. Eligible for Health Insurance and 401(k) after 60 days. Vacation and holiday pay after 5 years of service. Free lunch and beverages.
