Respiratory Therapists are skilled in using equipment such as ventilators, oxygen therapy, and other devices to assist patients with breathing difficulties.Common Duties and ResponsibilitiesPatient Assessment: Evaluate patients with breathing difficulties or cardiopulmonary issues by reviewing their medical history, conducting physical exams, and interpreting diagnostic tests such as blood gases, chest X-rays, and pulmonary function tests.Respiratory Care: Administer treatments to improve breathing, including oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, chest physiotherapy, and inhalation therapy (e.g., nebulizer treatments).Equipment Management: Set up and monitor equipment like ventilators, oxygen tanks, CPAP machines, and other respiratory devices.
