Assistant Professor of Clinical - Medicine, Myeloma

Job Summary This faculty position will have research responsibilities within the Department of Medicine, Division of Myeloma, and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The individual in this position will focus on research efforts conducting and developing genome sequencing of multiple myeloma (MM) and other plasma dyscrasias. He/She will have attending physician duties in the Division of Myeloma, focusing on the care and treatment of patients with plasma cell disorders and other hematologic malignancies, including outpatient care and inpatient attending responsibilities for the division. Responsibilities Design and lead research studies and/or research activities, including authorship of scientific publications, industry and/or patent preparation. Publish in refereed journals as principal investigator and/or in collaboration with senior faculty, principal investigator(s), or program director(s). Hold clinic sections for inpatient attending duties at Sylvester’s main campus or other UHealth locations. Generate sufficient funds to cover research endeavors and professional income practice expenses and contribute to the Department of Medicine each fiscal year. Participate in educational conferences, department meetings, scholarly work, and administrative functions associated with the department. Qualifications MD with board certification or eligibility in Myeloma; active or eligibility to obtain a Florida Medical License. Track record of peer-reviewed publications in myeloma research and potential or demonstrated ability to secure extramural research funding. Experience or interest in research focused on myeloma genomics. Experience working with multidisciplinary clinical and research teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
