RECRUITING DIETITIANS FOR ROCHESTER PSYCHIATRIC CENTER

Rochester Psychiatric Center (RPC) an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission-accredited hospital , is currently recruiting Dietitians for the day shift; Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm, pass days are Saturdays and Sundays, but will be required to be on call one weekend per month.

As a Dietitian, you will be part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and will assist in the food and nutrition program operations, including:

• Developing, planning, and approving diets and menus.
• Monitoring patient food and fluid intake at meals.
• Consulting with healthcare providers on individual diet therapy programs to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions.
• Identifying and recommending activities to improve and maintain individuals' nutritional health.
• Providing nutritional care instructions and information to individuals
• Ensuring the integration of cultural, religious, and ethnic foods in the planning and delivery of balanced meals
• Documenting dietary changes or reactions in individuals’ medical records.
• Planning and conducting training for both staff and patients in sanitation, safety, nutrition therapy, meal service, shopping, etc.
• This position will need to obtain and maintain ServSafe Manager certification (will be offered through employer).

RPC, a Joint Commission accredited Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility, provides inpatient and outpatient treatment and rehabilitation to adults who have been diagnosed with serious mental illness, residential and community support programs to children and adolescents diagnosed with serious emotional disturbances, and inpatient treatment to individuals who are currently involved with the Criminal Justice System. Minimum Qualifications:

• Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or
• New York State Education Department (NYSED) certification in dietetics-nutrition and have completed a minimum of an additional 400 hours of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of a RD.
