Patient Access Specialist / Registration

Full time, varied shifts, flex, float, with weekends, holidays rotation. 80 hours per pay period. Possible sign‑on bonus eligible.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial counseling, collecting co‑pays and deductibles, providing financial assistance education to patients and families.
• Stat registering and scheduling appointments.
• Completing registration by collecting and entering all pertinent financial and demographic information into the ADT system.
• Verifying insurance benefit information, generating the ABN, and reviewing orders for compliance.
• Completing MSP, obtaining financial and treatment consents, placing ordered medical procedures.
• Obtaining pre‑certification when applicable while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrating customer focus with patience, composure, and compassion; handling ambiguity; strong time‑management and interpersonal skills; supporting peer relationships.
• Maintaining excellent customer service standards and confidentiality while communicating with physicians, physician offices, patients, and coworkers.

Qualifications

• High school completion or GED required; associate’s degree in healthcare or related business field preferred.
• 1‑3 years of job‑related experience required; preferred experience in customer service, clerical/office, hospital, medical office/clinic, or insurance company.
• Proficient in Windows‑based computer technology, with keyboarding and typing at least 25 wpm.
• Medical Terminology certification preferred.
• Knowledge of hospital financial policies and ability to apply them to secure payment.
• Knowledge of HIPAA confidentiality and privacy rights.
