Senior Brand Strategist, WWGS Brand & Sustainability Team

The Worldwide Grocery Brand & Sustainability team is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Senior Brand Strategist to serve as an embedded expert supporting all Whole Foods Market and Amazon Grocery brands. This role brings deep brand expertise—positioning, brand architecture, narrative development, creative strategy, and brand governance—to high-impact programs and initiatives within Grocery. Sitting at the intersection of marketing, ecommerce, private label and merchandizing, you will ensure that every touchpoint reflects a consistent and compelling brand experience for customers.The ideal candidate will be a seasoned brand and retail expert who brings both vision and operational rigor to the team: You are a dynamic, multifaceted strategist who is a comprehensive and incisive thinker. You thrive in complex and fast-paced environments, and are gifted at finding a true, distinctive, and compellingly clear strategic narrative in the most complicated business and consumer challenges. You have a deep understanding of how retail and lifestyle brands are built and sustained across audiences, and you are passionate about applying that expertise to Amazon Grocery. You will partner closely with all teams across the Grocery organization to define and drive relevant brand-actions. You will be accountable for developing mechanisms that ensure brand excellence across existing and new initiatives, helping teams connect long-term brand building with measurable business outcomes. You will navigate ambiguity where business strategy, consumer needs, or creative direction may not yet be defined (or be in conflict), and make trade-offs between short- and long-term brand objectives. You will speak and write with laser-sharp clarity, using data to support assertions while still inspiring new thoughts and solutions. This role requires a highly fungible and articulate professional who can operate as a trusted brand advisor—leaning into insights, defining positioning, shaping narratives, driving alignment with a diverse set of stakeholders—while thriving in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.This role reports to the Director of Brand & Sustainability and is based in Austin, TXKey job responsibilitiesServe as the brand expert for all WWGS programs. Specifically:- Use insights and data to author, revise and/or update coherent strategies and positioning frameworks for all WWGS banners and brands (as needed).- Own and up-level brand guidelines, strategic narratives, partnership tenets, and messaging architecture for all grocery brands, keeping them current as the market and the business evolves.- Contribute perspective to cadenced reporting and narratives (MBR, QBR, PR/FAQ) and present brand performance insights to senior leaders. - Earn trust with stakeholders and proactively influence partner team roadmaps and outputs ensuring brand coherence across all touchpoints.- Partner with diverse stakeholder teams to shape campaign narratives, validate concepts, and drive brand alignment from ideation through execution.- Elevate the quality of marketing creative to reflect brand differentiators and drive customer relevance. Measurable outcomes:Impact will be measured through lifts in brand equity for all Grocery brands. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
