About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join their legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of legal matters, including but not limited to, responding to public records disclosure requests, subpoenas, and discovery requests in a timely manner. The role also involves working on state procurement and contracting issues, as well as property, employment, and various business transactions. The ideal candidate should have a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school, with a minimum of 5 years' professional experience, particularly in the areas of higher education law, employment law, government contracting, and public records disclosure. Applicants for the Associate General Counsel position at the company should be adept at providing legal advice and services, with a focus on compliance, document drafting, and a broad range of legal issues in higher education. The role requires excellent writing skills, good business judgment, and the ability to work under limited supervision. Experience in civil rights, public entity law, academic and student affairs, and litigation support is also relevant. The candidate must be a member of the State Bar or be eligible to apply for approval within six months of hiring. The position demands a high level of efficiency, organization, and productivity, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including in-house and outside counsel, and university administrators.
