Estimator

Responsible for performing takeoffs of various materials & assisting sales support team with bidding residential & commercial jobs.

Essential Job Functions:

• Import blueprints into estimating software to prepare takeoffs.
• Review bid documents, examine plans and specifications.
• Assist sales staff with preparing bids while quantifying and qualifying all material quantities.
• Create takeoffs plans by using estimating software. Must be familiar with reading and understanding blueprints.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Some knowledge of flooring and tiling industry: carpet, hardwood, resilient and ceramic tile.
• General PC knowledge, Microsoft Excel a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure, work with deadlines, and within a team environment to best achieve excellent and timely results
• Intermediate math skills.
• Detail- Oriented, ability to work independently.

Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Prefer experience in estimating or familiarity of estimating software.
3. Prefer experience in the construction or building materials supply industry.

Other Requirements:

1. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
2. Fundamental mathematic comprehension required.
3. Ability to multi-task is required.
4. Travel required: none
