Histology Supervisor, Outreach Laboratory

Overview The Histology Supervisor is responsible for the technical, logistical, and administrative operations of the histology laboratory to ensure timely, accurate testing and reporting. You will provide leadership and expert guidance to staff performing specialized procedures that support patient diagnosis and treatment. You will also monitor and maintain quality control, quality assurance, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards. Additionally, you will support departmental goals by promoting best practices, adhering to policies and procedures, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing laboratory environment. Responsibilities Lead and supervise histology staff, ensuring accurate and timely processing of specimens and reporting of results. Develop and monitor quality control and quality assurance programs in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and accreditation standards. Promote best practices, continuity of operations, and a collaborative, high-performing laboratory environment. Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to staff; support professional development. Coordinate with pathologists and clinical teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment through histology services. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in medical technology, histology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science. 5–7 years of experience in an appropriate clinical laboratory setting, including histology and anatomic pathology. Demonstrated supervisory or management experience. Licenses and Certifications ASCP - American Society of Clinical Pathologists HT or HTL certification, or equivalent. #J-18808-Ljbffr MedStar Health
