Coach/Ops Mgr Trainee

Position Summary Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Provides feedback, communicates and collaborates across all levels about store operations, technology, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations and business solutions, and communicates objectives effectively. Responsibilities Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates, following the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manage and support customer service initiatives, resolve customer complaints and issues, and develop action plans to correct deficiencies. Provide process‑improvement leadership to ensure a high‑quality customer experience. Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing and evaluating PL statements, managing budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses. Monitor inventory flow, operational processes, and merchandise presentation; develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink. Hire, train, mentor, and provide recognition to hourly associates, assign duties, set expectations, and promote a culture of belonging. Coordinate and oversee job‑related activities, develop relationships with key stakeholders, and communicate goals and objectives. Ensure compliance with company policies, the Open Door Policy, and ethical standards. Build high‑performing teams that embrace diversity, foster belonging, and deliver continuous improvement through technology and change. Support Walmart’s regenerative vision by making a positive impact on associates, customers, members, and the community. Minimum Qualifications 2 years of college OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For firearms retailers, successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training. For ammunition retailers that require state certificates, completion of a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility. Required to complete all job‑required trainings such as Academy and Open Door trainings. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live BetterU or comparable. Experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing responsibilities. Benefits Competitive pay and performance‑based bonuses.
