Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting the communication needs of students aged 5-22 with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This full-time, in-person contract role offers a chance to work closely with a dedicated team providing individualized attention and intervention. You'll play an essential part in helping students strengthen their communication skills, navigating both speech-language goals and behavioral support.
You'll enjoy a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with a manageable caseload of 18-22 students. The school environment is collaborative and well-supported, ensuring you have the resources needed to make a positive impact each day.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Rhode Island Speech-Language Pathologist (RI SLP) license required
- SLP-CCC or Clinical Fellowship Year (SLP-CFY) candidates encouraged to apply
- Experience or strong interest in working with school-aged children and young adults (ages 5-22)
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn behavior intervention strategies
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language therapy services to a diverse caseload
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and behavioral staff to support integrated interventions
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with school and legal requirements
- Communicate effectively with families and caregivers regarding progress and strategies
This position offers highly competitive weekly pay between $45 and $50 per hour, along with a robust benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and more.
