The TL;DR Role: Internship Type: Full Time Temporary Location: In-person – South Central District (Project-based assignments across TX, OK, AR, LA) Team: Operational Finance within the South Central District Mission: Develop and learn key roles and functions within construction management on critical infrastructure projects. What You’ll Actually Do Project Oversight: Assist with field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, and contract administration. Technical Problem-Solving: Perform engineering tasks requiring standard techniques and resolve minor technical issues that arise during construction. Record Management: Maintain accurate records regarding job progress, costs, and material usage. Planning & Scheduling: Contribute to the planning and scheduling of specific job segments or entire projects. Issue Resolution: Investigate problems or incidents, identifying and recommending appropriate solutions or alternatives. Material Management: Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements (quantities, qualities, and pricing) and work with suppliers to facilitate and expedite material delivery. The Must-Haves Background: Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. Experience: Ability to work full-time during the summer (approximately May-August) and willingness to travel or relocate as needed for project assignments.
