Role Purpose

To provide the scope of child life services to children and families who are receiving services from St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with health care professionals and hospital staff to provide optimal family centered care.
• Provides child life services to patients and families as assessed and prioritized including psycho-social preparation for hospitalization, procedures, surgeries, and/or other potentially stressful events.
• Actively contributes to the efficient operation of the Child Life Department planning activities, special projects, meetings, and outcome measures.
• Increases awareness of child life services throughout the hospital by providing information about the services, role modeling, medical record documentation, and in-service education.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree- Child Life/Educ/Life Science
• Child Life Internship
• Experience: No Experience
• Supervisor Experience: No Experience

Preferred Requirements

• Experience: 2 years
