Assistant Athletic Director

The Foster-Glocester Regional School District is seeking a full-time Assistant Athletic Director to assist the Athletic Director in supervising the High School and Middle School athletic programs in coordination with the PHS Principal, PMS Principal, Superintendent and the School Committee. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES The Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for ensuring implementation of interscholastic policies and procedures according to the rules of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League & Rhode Island Principals Committee on Athletics. ~ Assist the Athletic Director in establishing clear goals and direction for the athletic program. ~ Work with all stakeholders to deliver quality athletic programs. ~ Maintain paperwork required by the RIIL & RIPCOA and confirm student-athlete eligibility and coach eligibility for all interscholastic programs .~Collaborate with the School Nurse to verify that student athletes are cleared for play and monitor Return to Play protocols for all student-athletes .~Assist with scheduling of games/events for PHS and PMS athletic programs .~ Assist in the recruitment, selection, assignment, and training of coaches and staff .~ Assist with the development and oversight of the athletic budget.~ Maintain and oversee athletic equipment and uniform inventory.~ Organize and update the Ponaganset Athletics website .~ Maintain and update athletic social media accounts (Twitter, Instagram, etc.). ~ Assist in arranging transportation for all athletic teams. ~ Arrange athletic training services and coverage for all home contests and post season contests. ~ Communicate to students, parents, and families in regards to athletic updates, cancellations, changes, etc. ~ Serve as supervisor at home games, post season events and some away events during the school year (afternoons, nights, and weekends). Serve as the host to officials and visiting schools at on site venues. ~ Oversee the safety conditions of the facility/venue in which the assigned sport is conducted .~ Conduct facility walkthroughs of all athletic facilities and make Athletic Director and Director of Facilities aware of any issues with venues or equipment. ~ Hire officials and game-day operations staff (timers, ticket-takers, scoreboard staff, public address announcers, game administrators, police details, athletic trainer, and event staff. ~ Oversee fan behavior at interscholastic events.~ Assist the Athletic Director with discipline of student-athletes, spectators, and coaches. ~ Assist Athletic Director in payment for officials, coaches, vendors, and game operations staff .~ Enter and maintain rosters in School Today for all athletic programs .~ Develop practice schedules and facility usage schedule for all athletic facilities and venues for school teams as well as outside groups .~ Maintain and oversee coaching certification paperwork for The Foster-Glocester Regional School District. ~ Coordinate and assist Athletic Director with oversight of special events such as Salute to Service, Senior Nights, Student-Athlete Signing Days, Golf Tournament, Senior Awards Banquets, etc. ~ Create promotional materials (printed and electronic formats) in an effort to publicize athletic events to create awareness among students, staff, and the community. ~ Assist with oversight of fundraising initiatives of athletic teams.~ Assist with oversight of community service outreach for athletic teams. ~ Attend state and regional Athletic Directors Conferences representing The Foster-Glocester Regional School District ~ Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal, Athletic Director, or Superintendent.
