Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join a high-impact team supporting enterprise-level eCommerce payment systems. This team owns the core payment processing function across.com, Home Services, and Pro channels—ensuring transactions are valid, secure, and seamlessly integrated across backend systems. This role is part of a broader 2026 transformation initiative, which includes: building net-new cloud functionality, driving cloud migration (GCP-focused), and retiring 20–30% of legacy systems. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex migration challenges, working across APIs and event-driven systems, and contributing to mission-critical financial workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and enhance cloud-based applications within GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
• Participate in end-to-end API migration efforts, including: transitioning from legacy APIs to modern architectures, managing evolving data contracts
• Ensure regression reliability—validating that system changes do not create financial discrepancies
• Contribute to the design and implementation of event-driven systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on payment processing workflows and integrations
• Build, deploy, and maintain containerized applications in cloud environments
• Take ownership of tasks by thoroughly reviewing documentation and requirements before escalating questions

$45/hr to $65/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
