Fabric Data Engineer

Experience
15+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, BI Development, Data Warehousing, and Analytics solutions. Strong implementation experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Factory, Notebooks, Data Pipelines, Semantic Models, and Power BI. Experience developing and maintaining end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, and reporting solutions within Microsoft Fabric.
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in SQL, Python/PySpark, data transformation, data modeling, and ETL/ELT development. Hands-on experience building and optimizing Fabric Data Pipelines, Notebooks, and Lakehouse-to-Warehouse data flows. Experience implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and working with Delta Lake tables. Strong expertise in Power BI report development, semantic model creation, DAX, report optimization, and dashboard design. Experience designing dimensional models (Star/Snowflake schemas) and implementing business-friendly reporting solutions. Ability to troubleshoot and optimize Fabric workloads, data refreshes, query performance, and capacity utilization issues.
Migration & Modernization
Hands-on experience executing BI and analytics migrations from platforms such as Domo, Tableau, Qlik, Cognos, Business Objects, or similar tools to Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. Experience converting and modernizing legacy reports, dashboards, datasets, and data pipelines into Fabric-native solutions.
Governance & Platform Integration
Working knowledge of data governance, security, lineage, access controls, and metadata management within Fabric. Experience integrating Fabric with Microsoft Purview or similar data governance platforms is preferred. Experience working with Azure services including ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure DevOps, and Entra ID.
Collaboration & Delivery
Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating with business users, analysts, architects, and data platform teams. Ability to gather reporting requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver production-ready analytics assets.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600) certification preferred. Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) certification preferred. Experience in Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) environments is a plus. Experience supporting large-scale Domo-to-Power BI/Fabric modernization programs is highly desirable.
