Medical Support Specialist- LPN

Overview BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., operates plasma collection centers. As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will support center operations, determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational needs and under the Center Physician for medical issues. You should be familiar with regulations governing plasma collection or a manufacturing environment and follow guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs, providing center-level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS). Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interviews, acceptance requirements, physical examinations, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies according to SOPs, including developing Center Physician standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues affecting donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable. Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required, following EHS guidance. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an educational nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state of responsibility (LPN or LVN). Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy (where applicable). FDA-approved training completion for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of clinical or hospital experience. Location: USA - TX - San Antonio - Deza. U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 - $33.44. Actual offers depend on factors such as qualifications, experience, and location.
