Job Title Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical (IC&E) Technician – Tiverton, RI Job Details Field Area: Plant Job Type: Full-Time Responsibilities Provide input to the Maintenance Manager plans and directions and ensure ongoing appropriate relationships with other positions. Ensure the delivery of optimal results against appropriate performance metrics. Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs on all IC&E equipment to improve the reliability of the plant. Diagnose malfunctions and implement repair strategies on plant‑wide electrical system and electronic instrument and control systems. Perform preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on power plant electrical, instruments and control systems including Mark Vle, ABB Symphony plus and DCS system hardware and software. Perform maintenance, calibration and electronic testing functions. Document control and wiring changes and redline plant drawings as needed. Conform with Tiverton’s Management of Change program. Assist the Maintenance Manager during all scheduled and unscheduled outage periods and breakdowns as required. Interface with contractors and vendors to procure parts/services and implement contract work scopes. Operate plant equipment as required (trucks, cranes, forklift, scissor and aerial lifts). Understand and comply with all Company Environmental, Health and Safety Policies. Interface with MAXIMO to track maintenance activities, inventory tracking and equipment history. Read meters, gauges or automatic devices to record data such as temperature of equipment, vibration, hours of operation, pressure, fluid levels and water chemistry to verify operating conditions. Diagnose causes of mechanical, electrical and operational malfunctions or failures of equipment. Diagnose electrical, IC&E, electronic and electrical systems problems. Serve as a technical resource for personnel regarding electrical, IC&E, electronic and electrical systems operation and maintenance. Conduct electrical, IC&E, electronic and electrical systems inspections and tests as required to ensure plant is operating within specified parameters. Respond to all electrical, IC&E, electronic and electrical systems alarms and malfunctions as directed. Coordinate with the lead operator to identify and initiate appropriate corrective actions. Analyze trends and operating parameters on all electrical, IC&E, electronic and electrical systems to identify potential or impending failures and to ensure the plant is running at optimal efficiency. Repair, maintain and install electrical, IC&E, electronic and electrical systems and rearrange and modify as directed. Develop and follow predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance procedures and schedules. Research, procure and order parts and materials as required. Maintain a safe working environment including good housekeeping practices of work areas and shop areas. Maintain electrical, IC&E, electronic and electrical systems test equipment and shop areas. Perform daily calibration function to Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and respond to all problems with associated equipment. Repair, replace, dismantle and examine defective parts along with lubricating and cleaning parts. Participate in and contribute to plant safety meetings and programs. Present various safety training topics as assigned. Bring ideas for safety improvements forward. Document all safety findings appropriately (near miss reporting, safety work orders, incident investigation participation and safety improvement plan). Stop work and take corrective action if an unsafe act is witnessed and escalates to management as appropriate. Enforce site safety rules and practices. Adhere to the requirements of Process Safety Management and the Risk Management Program. Hire and supervise contractors when designated by the Maintenance Manager. Perform other duties as required. Education & Experience Required 5+ years of experience in electrical/electronic maintenance and/or instrumentation controls maintenance. High School diploma or equivalent. 2+ years at a power plant or industrial plant experience. Maintain First Aid & CPR Certification.
