About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nurse Specialty: Staff Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours, 36 hours per week, every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Med/Surg experience required License: Current NYS RN License Certifications: BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross) required Must-Have: Experience in managing a group of patients in a clinical setting Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. This role focuses on the prevention of illness and injury while alleviating suffering through diagnosis and treatment. The RN serves as an advocate in the care of individuals and families. Responsibility includes compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Job responsibilities include assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The RN manages a patient group while serving as a primary and/or accountable nurse. Responsibilities include patient and family education in health promotion and disease management. Utilization of a working knowledge of pharmacology to safely administer medications is required. Shared responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization is expected. Compliance with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements is mandatory. Active participation in and support of improvement initiatives and peer review practices is needed. Engagement in professional development and continuing education is encouraged. Integration of nursing research and current evidence into practice is essential. Providing a supportive learning environment for new employees and students is part of the role. Adherence to organizational values is required. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
