SENIOR PUBLIC HEALTH NUTRITIONIST SUPERVISOR

Salary: $60,000 - $63,902 Annually Posting Closing Date: 05/25/2026 Responsibilities Responsible for the supervision of staff including appraisals, planning and directing work, approving leave, and having the authority for hiring and taking disciplinary action or effectively recommending such actions. Supervision of the WIC program in Auburndale, sub‑ordinate staff, hiring, training, evaluating employees, planning schedules, rewarding high performers, disciplining, team building, time management, client complaints, inventory, purchasing, coordination with health professionals, quality improvement activities, purchasing card responsibilities, information custodian duties, and voter registration activities. Perform nutrition education duties: measuring, counseling, referrals, medical/history, nutrition care plans, certifying clients, updating food prescriptions, outreach, group education, and ensuring required contacts. Other duties: administrative forms, meetings, interpreter duties, and additional tasks as required. Qualifications Valid Florida Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment. Bachelor’s degree (or master’s or higher) in Public Health Nutrition, Dietetics, Clinical Nutrition, Community Nutrition, or Nutritional Sciences as required by the Florida state WIC program. Licensure as a dietitian/nutritionist (LD/N) with the State of Florida—Dietitians & Nutritionists, Chapter 468, Part X. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the science and current practice of nutrition or dietetics, assessment techniques, data compilation, educational plans, communication channels, analysis of anthropometric and nutritional data, patient counseling, program organization, supervision, priority setting, effective communication, working relationships, and understanding of rules and policies.
