Job Details Location: Barstow, CA 92311 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Salary Range: $109,000.00 - $109,000.00 per year Travel Percentage: Up to 50% Job Shift: First Shift Job Category: Management Overview Community Solutions, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and passionate candidate to fill the role of Area Director for the Multi‑Dimensional Anti‑Recidivism Partnership (MAP) High Desert Program located in Barstow, Victorville, Joshua Tree and Needles, CA. The Area Director supervises and monitors the daily operation of assigned Program facilities and services, fulfills all duties of the Vice President in his/her absence, and provides overall program quality assurance through regular monitoring and auditing to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance. The MAP program engages the community and provides rehabilitative programming for justice‑involved individuals, focusing on long‑term, self‑sustaining skills through vocational training and personal development services. A variety of sub‑contractors operate at one site to reduce barriers for clients. Position Responsibilities Administration and Planning Oversee policy development, training, and compliance in all areas of Agency programs and operations. Monitor compliance in accordance with Agency mission, professional standards, regulatory agency licensing, contractual requirements, and applicable zoning regulations. Act as appellant authority on client‑related issues as designated by the Vice President. Ensure targeted program utilization rates and assist Program Directors in implementing proactive and creative strategies to generate referrals. Staff Development and Supervision Orient and train new Program Directors and perform duties of Director during periods of extended vacancy. Assist in personnel hiring, discipline, grievance, and separations. Monitor Program Directors in areas of personnel policy compliance, supervision, and training. Ensure timeliness and content of all employee evaluations. Supervise Program Directors and ensure compliance/staff performance goals. Conduct training as necessary. Conduct ongoing performance supervision of assigned Program Directors. Financial Management Conduct internal audits and monitoring visits at all facilities for quality assurance and quality improvements; monitor all external audits. Assist the Vice President in monitoring program budgets, overtime, and all aspects of financial management. Ensure preventive maintenance plan and physical plant quality and recommend new projects and repairs as needed. Community and Agency Relations Oversee Program Directors in areas of funding, referral source, and community agency relations. Monitor program general accountability, service quality, and admission and discharge issues and related key issues. Work with Vice President in community education and promotion of Agency programs and services to relevant professional agencies and associations. Evaluations and Management Information Systems Monitor weekly, monthly, and quarterly program reports and statistical information for program accuracy and written content. Ensure policy compliance with regard to appropriate documentation, client services, and facility operations. Assist Vice President in program evaluation, research, and program development. Maintain a working knowledge of and abide by the Agency’s programs, policies, and procedures. Schedule This position will work various work hours as needed by the program and will be required to attend community events, and may have to work evenings and weekends. Annual Salary The salary for this position starts at $109,000.00 and the offer will be reflective of experience, education, skillset, etc. Qualifications Master’s Degree and five years’ experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree and seven years’ experience in the social service or criminal justice field. Five years’ experience in management and supervision of staff. Experience with Microsoft Office. Ability to engage and develop collaborations with community agencies. Experience developing similar programs for new initiatives. Self‑starter; will work with minimal supervision.
