Job Description: Looking for Chef, Sous Chefs, Line-cooks (Caribbean and Spanish culture cuisine restaurant)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef with a strong background in Caribbean and Creole Island–style cooking . The ideal candidate will bring creativity, authenticity, and consistency to our kitchen, delivering high-quality meals that celebrate the vibrant flavors of Caribbean and Creole traditions. This role requires leadership in the kitchen, menu development expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest culinary and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present authentic Spanish, Caribbean, and Creole dishes with a focus on quality and flavor.
• Develop and refine menus that highlight traditional recipes while incorporating modern techniques and presentation.
• Source and manage inventory of fresh, high-quality ingredients, maintaining cost controls and minimizing waste.
• Train, mentor, and oversee kitchen staff to ensure consistency, food safety, and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards , including ServSafe guidelines.
• Collaborate with management to design seasonal or event-specific menus.
• Stay current with culinary trends and bring innovative ideas to enhance the dining experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience (3–5+ years) as a Chef specializing in Spanish, Caribbean, Creole, or Island cuisines.
• Strong knowledge of traditional dishes, spices, and cooking techniques native to Caribbean and Creole culinary cultures.
• Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred but not required with extensive hands-on experience.
• Ability to manage a kitchen team, schedule staff, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• ServSafe Food Handler’s Certificate and/or Food Protection Manager Certification (required).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
