Pain Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) Job Description Inova is looking for a dedicated Pain Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join the team. This role will be Full Time, M-F 8:00am - 4:30pm primarily at our Fair Oaks Pain Clinic with possible travel to Fairfax East and Loudoun Pain Clinics if/when needed. Inova Comprehensive Pain Centers offer a range of services for people living with acute or chronic pain. Obtain comprehensive medical and pain histories Performed focused physical exams (spinal, motor and musculoskeletal) Management and assessment of Acute and Chronic (mostly) pain management Recommend pharmacology options such as non-opioid management Patient education, referrals to Neurosurgery, Behavioral Health, Rehab/PT, etc. when appropriate Procedures interventions if interested: Trigger point and joint injections Assessing behavior comorbidities and referring to pain psychologist on staff when appropriate Assists and performs prior authorizations, peer -to- peers, patient follow ups Common conditions managed: Chronic low back pain Neck pain Radiculopathy Spinal stenosis Degenerative disc disease Neuropathic pain Post surgical pain Pain Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) Minimum Requirements: Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Master's degree required. Experience :Minimum of one year of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider preferred. Prior experience in Pain Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Orthopedics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology, Primary Care, or a related specialty is preferred. Experience evaluating and managing patients with acute and chronic pain conditions is desirable. Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services Preferred Qualifications: 1+ year prior APP experience About Us We are Inova, Northern Virginia’s leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
