Senior Lab Assistant

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Senior Lab Assistant for their Richmond laboratory to support instrument operations, specimen handling, and reagent preparation. The role involves maintaining laboratory systems, managing samples, and ensuring quality control in a clinical research environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess sample quantity and quality against established criteria
• Load and unload laboratory instruments and assist with maintenance
• Prepare reagents, solutions, and aliquot specimens as directed
• Maintain pipette calibration and enter results into database systems
• Manage specimen storage areas and long-term paper records

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 4 years relevant laboratory or scientific experience
• Basic technical and scientific terminology knowledge
• Strong attention to detail and verbal communication skills
• Ability to adhere to laboratory policies and standard operating procedures
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of client protocols and study data
• Collaborative teamwork and computer software proficiency

Compensation: $18.00–$20.00 hourly
