Job Summary Provide specialized administrative support services to attorneys in the Office of General Counsel. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Paralegal to support our legal team. This position will supervise: N/A Responsibilities Job Duty 1 - Review and summarize significant terms of Georgia Tech business records Job Duty 2 - Prepare legal materials, legal memos, documents, and correspondence under the supervision of an attorney Job Duty 3 - Draft responses to legal complaints and other documents Job Duty 4 - Assist with maintaining filing system and internal tracking tools Job Duty 5 - Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding office-related procedures and processes Job Duty 6 - Participate in special projects as needed and develop, prioritize, and monitor achievement of project goals Job Duty 7 - Conduct legal research Job Duty 8 - Perform other job-related duties as assigned Job Duty 9 - Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Technical Diploma, Associate Degree, or two years college course work or equivalent combination of education and experience Other Required Qualifications Paralegal/Technical certificate Required Experience Four or more years of job-related experience Preferred Qualifications Additional Preferred Qualifications Paralegal certificate/degree Preferred Educational Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Preferred Qualifications Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved or equivalent program. Experience supporting attorneys on complex legal, regulatory, compliance, investigative, litigation, audit, or administrative matters. Experience conducting document collection, review, organization, and discovery for litigation, investigations, audits, subpoenas, public records requests, or government inquiries. Experience working within a federal agency, state government, public university, research institution, healthcare organization, or other highly regulated environment. Experience supporting higher education legal, compliance, research administration, or government relations functions. Experience reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing statutes, regulations, agency guidance, contracts, grants, or other legal and business records. Experience managing large volumes of documents and maintaining matter-tracking, records management, or case management systems. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail. Advanced legal research skills and proficiency using legal research and document management tools. . Proposed Salary Proposed Salary: $64,424 - $75,000. Commensurate with education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Skills In-depth knowledge of legal office administration and preparation of complex legal documents Skills in legal research; knowledge of Georgia law and requirements relating to state entities and educational institutions; and Communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are also required Excellent research skills, able to multi-task several assignments under tight deadlines and proficient in Microsoft Office USG Core Values The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 25 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
