Lids is a global retailer specializing in headwear and apparel that sits at the intersection of fan culture and fashion, with locations across North America, Europe, and Australia. Operating out of Indianapolis, IN, Lids offers officially licensed headwear from collegiate and major professional sports teams, along with branded and specialty fashion styles in over 1,200 stores. Team members join a fast-paced retail environment focused on sports, trends, and delivering an engaging in-store experience. Role Description We're looking for a motivated full-time or part-time Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Lids – Keystone Fashion Mall in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you'll help lead day-to-day store operations, coach and develop associates, deliver an exceptional customer experience, and drive sales performance in a fast-paced retail environment. This position assists in supervising and coaching store associates, ensuring consistent customer service, and maintaining merchandising standards that reflect current trends and brand guidelines. The role includes monitoring inventory, supporting retail loss prevention practices, and contributing to daily tasks such as opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and store cleanliness. The Assistant Store Manager also helps drive sales through effective communication, product knowledge, and engagement with customers, while modeling Lids’ values and supporting the Store Manager in achieving store goals. Qualifications Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills to deliver a positive, engaging experience for every shopper. Strong Communication abilities to interact effectively with customers, team members, and leadership. Store Management experience to support daily operations, staff supervision, and execution of company policies. Knowledge of Retail Loss Prevention practices to help protect company assets and ensure a safe store environment. Prior retail or hospitality experience, preferably in apparel, footwear, or sporting goods. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a fast-paced setting. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business or retail management is a plus.
