Mechanical Design Engineer – Data Center Facilities Valhalla, USA-NY or Los Angeles, USA-CA – Full‑time At Ramboll, you will find a dedicated group of professionals that are pioneers and leaders in Data Center Strategy, Planning, Design, Integration, Commissioning and Testing with experience working in thousands of data centers in the U.S. territory and across the globe. We provide a broad set of services for enterprise, institutional, web‑scale, service provider and colocation companies. Responsibilities Plan, conceptualize, and create HVAC mechanical designs for new and retrofit buildings/projects in the mission critical environment. Duct design/piping design experience. Central plant cooling design. Perform typical HVAC engineering calculations to support design work. Create technical drawings, plans, and specifications (using computer software) for review by senior engineer. Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors. Ensure project timelines are met and the project stays within budget. Able to travel to project sites. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. EIT/PE a plus. 5 years (minimum) of experience working for a design engineering firm, mission‑critical design experience a plus. Firm grasp of engineering concepts including theoretical and practical applications for HVAC systems. Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office programs. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly. Must be self‑motivated and know project design steps/requirements. Salary and Benefits The U.S. pay range for this positionis $75,000 - $90,000 annually and does not include bonuses, overtime or other forms of compensation or benefits. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience.
