Work Environment\n

This position is entirely remote, utilizing a Telehealth facility which allows for flexible work arrangements. Our regular office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a structured yet flexible work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that focus on the unique needs of elderly residents. Develop personalized therapeutic care plans based on detailed evaluations.

• Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions designed to address the emotional complexities associated with aging, including grief, loss, and adjustments to life changes.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to devise and implement holistic care plans, enhancing the overall quality of life for each client.

• Offer psychoeducation to staff and family members, equipping them with strategies to improve emotional support and caregiving practices for elderly individuals.

• Lead grief and loss counseling sessions for residents and their families, assisting them in navigating end-of-life issues and fostering resilience.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be the geriatric population—seniors who may be grappling with a variety of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. Many of our clients experience issues related to bereavement, chronic illness, and significant transitions, making the role of the counselor both impactful and essential. A deep understanding of the sociocultural factors affecting this demographic will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Qualifications\n

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
