Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Practice Services team sits at the intersection of practicing lawyers and administrative operations of the Firm. The Practice Manager works independently as well as in a collaborative and dynamic team-based environment that is focused on providing exceptional support and responsiveness to our lawyers and staff across the entire Firm. The Practice Manager is responsible for supporting the Firm’s HCLS Practice, assisting Practice leadership and Partners with respect to their Practice management, business and client development activities; working cooperatively with lawyers and fellow staff to advance and execute Practice initiatives; and implementing, tracking and contributing to the success of related short- and long-term projects. Required Qualifications: Minimum four years of experience working within a law firm or corporate legal department. Experience in Health Care and/or Life Sciences is a plus. Highly motivated and proactive. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Strong organizational, time management, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong Excel capability and confidence in creative calculations and data analysis. Strong PowerPoint capability. General knowledge of and familiarity with law firm practices. Strong service orientation and ability to work with a wide range of people on a global team. Ability to work under pressure and respond positively to changing priorities and timelines. Ability to establish effective working relationships both internally and externally. Ability and receptiveness to learn new systems and applications. Proficiency in general Office applications, i.e., Word, Outlook, and Teams. Jones Day offers competitive salaries and benefits to all employees. Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The starting salary range for this Chicago position is $120,000 – $150,000.
