Job Opportunity36-Hours, Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Every other holiday, Every other weekendEssential FunctionsAssess and reassess patient needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions and care plans.Provide patient care while adhering to standards of care, protocols, and established policies.Respect each patient as an individual and foster a sense of dignity and positive self-regard.Educate patients and families according to identified learning needs, readiness to learn, and barriers to learning.Collaboratively plan discharge for patients and families, incorporating support systems and resources as needed.Delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by other team members as appropriate.Prioritize patient care effectively, seeking assistance as needed and recognizing emergencies.Document all relevant data, therapeutic interventions, and patient responses in a timely and accurate manner.Provide thorough patient reports to ensure continuity of care among health care team members.Promote ongoing learning for oneself and colleagues through mentorship and participation in professional development.Identify potential risks to patient safety and opportunities to reduce errors in healthcare delivery.Recognize and address ethical issues in patient care.Safely administer medications and intravenous therapies in accordance with physician's orders and established protocols.Assess and document patient pain levels upon admission and continuously thereafter as necessary.Monitor and interpret cardiac arrhythmias and EKG changes accurately.Implement and document thrombolytic and anticoagulation therapy in line with established standards.Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical ventilation and care for intubated patients, including suctioning and troubleshooting.Interpret arterial blood gases and clinical indicators of respiratory impairment.Assist with hemodynamic monitoring and cannulation procedures.Administer vasoactive medications safely while understanding dosage, action, and side effects.Monitor patients in the immediate post-operative phase according to established protocols.Adhere to the Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) bundle protocols and report deviations for review.Participate actively in multi-disciplinary rounds to ensure coordinated patient care.Job RequirementsMinimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.Minimum Experience: 1 year of medical-surgical experience preferred; telemetry experience required; ICU experience preferred.Licenses and Certifications: Current RN License; ACLS certification upon hire or active BLS card with AHA ACLS to be obtained within 60 days of hire; CCRN preferred.Functional DemandsPhysical Requirements: Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, with the ability to handle objects, reach, and perceive attributes by touch.
