Job Opportunity: Academic Nephrologist

The Department of Medicine at our organization is on the lookout for a full-time Academic Nephrologist (Assistant or Associate Professor) to become a part of our Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. This role provides a chance to engage in a comprehensive nephrology practice within a collaborative and academically stimulating setting.

Position Overview

As an Academic Nephrologist, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing inpatient consultation and educational services.
• Participating in renal transplant services.
• Delivering outpatient care for hemodialysis patients.
• Managing a hypertension referral clinic.
• Overseeing a comprehensive outpatient program for chronic kidney disease.
• Engaging in a vibrant academic environment with opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Contributing to or developing clinical and/or translational research initiatives.
• Collaborating within a multidisciplinary care model alongside advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff.

Candidate Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:

• MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Nephrology.
• Proven clinical expertise in nephrology subspecialty care.
• A strong commitment to medical education and mentorship.
• Interest or experience in clinical research is highly valued.
• Eligibility for faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in New York State.
• A dedication to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to diverse populations.
