We aren't looking for mill operators or button-pushers. We are looking for hands-on CNC Lathe Setup Machinists and Skilled Operators who know turning centers inside and out.

(Note: This is a shop-floor setup and operation role—no CAD/CAM offline programming required.)

• Mori Seiki

• Nakamura-Tome (SC-300, SC-450, Dual-Turret / Live Tooling)

• Haas (SL Series)

• Samsung

• Doosan / Mazak turning centers

Qualifications Needed

• Experience: 3+ years (Junior/Mid) or 5–10+ years (Senior) of dedicated CNC Lathe setup and operation experience in a precision shop environment.

• Control Familiarity: Solid working knowledge of Fanuc, Haas, or similar CNC lathe controls, including making minor line edits/adjustments at the machine.

• Blueprint & Measurement Literacy: Proficient in reading blueprints, understanding GD&T symbols, and using precision hand measuring tools.

• Reliability: Good work ethic, high attention to detail, and ability to work a reliable 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM shift in Hayward, CA. ZPMLSTCM

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Lathe Setups: Perform complete setups, jaw/chuck changes, collet installation, live-tooling alignment, and program prove-outs on CNC Turning Centers.

• Control & Offsets: Load existing programs, set work coordinates, establish tool length offsets, and make basic G-code/M-code edits at the control panel (Fanuc, Haas, etc.) to hold tolerances.

• Production & Operation: Run high-precision job orders, monitor tool wear, replace inserts, and make in-process offset adjustments to maintain part quality across production runs.

• First-Piece & In-Process Inspection: Read engineering drawings/GD&T callouts and verify parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, thread pins, and optical comparators.

• Tooling Management: Select and set up cutting tools, boring bars, and workholding fixtures to maintain tight tolerances and optimal surface finishes.
